Ise-Shima National Park (Mie)
Attractions: Ise-Jingu shrine, ria coast, white sand beaches
The best features of the Ise-Shima National Park are its breathtaking shoreline and the Ise-Jingu, the most famous Japanese shrine. The park covers mostly all of the Ise and Shima cities. The Ise-Jingu, located in Ise City, is composed of the Naiku (Kotaijingu) and the Geku (Toyoukedaijingu) founded about 2000 and 5000 years ago, respectively. Shima City, famous for its pearls, offers a unique view of the ria coast accented with hundreds of small islets.
