Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu is the northernmost national park of Japan and covers the Sarobetsu Plain and the offshore islands of Rishiri and Rebun.
The Sarobetsu Plain has a spectacular landscape abundant in marsh plants and dunes. Rishiri island is an almost exactly circular shaped island that is home to the volcanic cone of Mt. Rishiri (5,640ft/ 1,719m). It takes 10 hours to hike around the mountain.
Rebun island, famous for its alpine plants is known as the "Island of Flowers". It boasts beautiful beaches and a breathtaking view of Mt. Rishiri. Ferries are available to the Rebun and Rishiri islands from Wakkanai (Travel Route Examples).
